i'm pleased to announce that VATSIM has added another USA-based VATSIM server, USA-SE. This server was specifically added to relieve some of the load on USA-E. As always, all VATSIM servers are linked so it doesn't change what traffic/ATC you see online. But particularly if you're closer to Georgia than New Jersey, this might be a better solution for you (less lag, etc.).

Hey Don did this end up not going through as I haven't seen this server online. Or did it end up getting named something different. Im near the TN/GA border and a server closer to me than the North East would be better imo for my lag issues I encounter on event nights.

It was active for several months, and was then taken offline when C2 was added. C is in Dallas, C2 is in St. Louis. Your least lag is likely to be wherever your lowest ping is, so I suggest you check each of the USA servers for your lowest ping.

On the subject of servers, does anybody know what is going on with the west server? It's been down for a while now.

last I heard a couple of weeks ago, it was down indefinitely due to technical issues with the server.
