I personally would like to thank all of the controllers who showed up for the event tonight, ZTL and otherwise! It was a great turnout and we really love the feeling of making it a "real as it gets". Thanks again for all the support!

Atlanta & Charlotte Live are some of the busiest events we have within ZTL and if our "marketing department" (because that's really what Events is) chooses to call it a Live event, then so be it.

Well no $#!t Sherlock. That's not what I was saying. I was saying Atlanta Live has been around for a long time, just how long is indicated above. In defense of Mr. Anderson who had mentioned no one had an issue with it before, I have to agree. It seems to me this is nothing more than an attempt to stir proverbial pot.

It has been a tradition in the ARTCC to not call our event "Real Ops" or something to the effect. We have called our events Atlanta Live! and Charlotte Live! for years now, and this is the first time it has been questioned. Why? Because it doesn't go with what other ARTCC's are doing.

I wholeheartedly agree with Will here. ZTL has been running Atlanta Live for longer than I have been on the network. If we are now criticizing the nomenclature ARTCC's use for events, then I would suggest that VATUSA make a ruling as to the official name of FNOs be just that, the FNO; However, I should note, making this ruling will be the downfall of the FNO event itself. Restricting something as silly as the name will cause USA's most well known event to become a stagnant pond. Just my two cents...

The Atlanta Center is seeking qualified, professional, and motivated individuals to fulfil the role of Instructor Candidates.

IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE VATUSA I1 SELECTION PROCESS, THIS POSITION DOES NOT GUARENTEE SELECTION AS AN I1

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Will serve as primary instructors for students with in the Atlanta Center

- Will Write, Update, and Maintain curriculum on the Atlanta Center Training system as assigned by the TA

- Assist in certifying students to the VATSIM, VATUSA, and Atlanta Center training standards

- Will complete their Atlanta Center training certification within 180 days of accepting the position

QUALIFICATIONS:

* Have held a C1 rating for at least 30 days prior to application

* No disciplinary or unprofessional conduct in the last twelve months

* Capable of working well in a team-oriented environment

* Strong knowledge of the United States Airspace and Air Traffic Control systems

* Excellent written and oral communication skills.

DESIRED ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

*Instructor/Mentor experience

*Previous training experience, on network or real world

*Supervisory, trainer, or management experience in virtual or real world

*Knowledge of Aircraft Situation Editor

*immensely enjoys teaching and helping others develop relevant skills through their virtual ATC career.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

In compliance with the VATUSA instructor selection process, Atlanta Center will recommend Instructor Candidates for I1s after the following requirements have been met,

*90 days in the program

*Atlanta Center Train the Trainer program has been satisfactory completed

*All Pending Assignments have been completed

*Failure to complete these requirements in 120 days will result in termination from the Instructor Candidate Program

This is the 2nd year we've done the Share a Coke event. Atlanta is the home of the Coca-Cola Company, albeit irrelevant to your comment. The graphic came from the Coca-Cola website where they allowed you to put your own name, or in this case Hartsfield & Jackson, on a pair of coke bottles. These types of images are allowed for distribution so long as it doesn't promote a commercial interest.
