Date: 06/28/2019
Time: 23:00z to 03:00z

It's that time of the year when many families head out to Virginia Beach and the Outer Banks to enjoy their summer vacations on the beach. Join ZDC as we staff up Norfolk International Airport (KORF) for challenging arrivals and departures. General Aviation and Airliners are always welcome.

Not to sound like a Debbie Downer, but are we sure Norfolk can handle FNO traffic?  That's a lot of traffic for such a small airport.. :-\

Sorry for the delayed reply. If we didn't think it could handle a FNO event, we wouldn't have set it up. I am confident in our controllers abilities to work a high traffic amount at smaller airport. Being at a smaller airport, this also gives pilots the opportunity to fly a smaller plane, such as a business jet or general aviation aircraft. We understand your concern, but we are prepared and will provide the best service for all. We hope to see you at the event!

Respectfully,
Tim Evans
