The Chicago ARTCC and the Cleveland ARTCC are excited to proudly present a special Midwest TRACON Tour featuring the Great Lakes TRACON! Come join us for a beautiful evening along the shores of Lake Michigan as we explore all the state has to offer.
The Great Lakes TRACON is divided in east and west areas under the jurisdiction of ZOB and ZAU respectively. The west area features Gerald R. Ford International Airport in Grand Rapids (KGRR) featuring commercial service by American, Allegiant, Southwest, Delta, United, and many other carriers. If you want a scenic view, look no further than Muskegon (KMKG), situated on the eastern shore of Lake Michigan. Further inland, Kalamazoo International Airport (KAZO) is a TRSA that serves Kalamazoo along with Battle Creek Executive (KBTL).
On the east side, the state capital Lansing is served by Capital Region International Airport (KLAN), which has been in operation since 1926. Finally, the third busiest airport in the state can be found in Flint, at Bishop International Airport (KFNT). All this along with a slew of untowered fields, there is no shortage of places to fly with the top-notch ATC provided by ZAU and ZOB.
All general aviation, IFR, and VFR operations and all skill levels are welcome. Surrounding facilities such as Great Lakes, FWA, and GUS will have ATC coverage as staffing permits.
