Come out to the great Pacific Northwest with this VFR flight through the Columbia River Gorge! In this event, you will depart out of KPDX starting at 5:00 pm PDT (1700PDT, 2359z), fly through the gorge until Columbia Gorge Regional/The Dalles (KDLS)/Klickitat VOR (LTJ) then make a Southbound turn towards Roberts Field (KRDM/Redmond)/Deschutes VOR (DSD) anytime until 8:00 pm PDT (2000PDT, 0300z).
If you would like to fly this route as IFR (or if the weather is not good on the day of...) the routing will be as follows: BTG V112 LTJ V25 DSD. The routing through the gorge will give you between a 1 hour to 1.5-hour flight.
Seattle ARTCC is excited to be hosting this VFR event, and we can't wait to watch the sunset with you on April 15th!

I might have to participate. I flew through the gorge back in March of 2004 on my 250nm solo x-c from KGEG to KHIO with a touch-and-go at KPSC on the way back when I attempted getting my commercial. It's still a highlight of my life.

It will be a great refresher to see the amazing scenery through the gorge after such a long time! We hope to see you there. Bring some friends if you have the chance to grab any. :)
