Well done! Great video. Gave me the idea of highlighting aircraft after the handoff to the tower. (Useful)A handful of places do this in the real world. In the Miami ATCT, they highlight aircraft once they've been cleared to land and in the TRACON, they highlight aircraft once they've been switched to tower.
Registration is now open for those looking to attend in person. If you are not a local/visitor controller at ZMA, send me an email at sergio.lopez@zmaartcc.netCan we get some more information on what is going on? Location, cost, is this just on the 25th or is there more going on? Hard to commit without having some information besides it's in Florida. It is in Florida, right?
It's web based, and something that has to be built from the ground up every time it gets adapted for a new facility. My post was an attempt at humor...trying to mimic the hundreds of people on the VATSIM forum regarding software like Swift and such.
And if you want to talk sub-enroute airspace, those boundaries are not documented anywhere for a pilot, so expecting them to know where your approach airspace starts is an unrealistic expectation.
They can estimate airspace entry on VATSpy or VATTASTIC.
Who has a TRACON facility that's a perfect circle and anywhere near the VATSpy diameter?
No. Operating systems don't allow two applications to bind to the same UDP port.A solution idea - some lightweight software which would mute your mic input to vSTARS/vERAM/VRC and press your push to talk every 30 seconds or so. When you manually press your PTT, it works normally.
Easier solution is the port forward. What you're asking for is a rather convoluted solution that adds several new risks and failure modes.
