Duties

The TA reports to the Air Traffic Manager and VATUSA Training Director, functions as a senior ARTCC staff member and oversees/directs the operation of the training program.
•   Attends periodic meetings as necessary.
•   Maintains an active online presence within the ARTCC and on the VATSIM network.
•   Responsible for curriculum development including courses, classes, simulation scenarios, exams and all associated media/material.
•   Manages training staff/appointments providing guidance, coaching and correction where needed
•   Ensures ZAU training program meets ATM goals and current VATUSA, VATNA, VATSIM policies.
•   Responsible for student progression / approves rating promotions.
•   Helps draft changes to Official and Internal Training Documents and Policies.
•   Represents ZAU and ATM to VATUSA training staff; acts accordingly.
•   Quickly and accurately responds to training inquiries from students, mentors, and instructors.
•   Frequently checks and responds to emails and contacts in a timely manner.
•   Assumes the duties of instructor.

Requirements
The successful candidate must:
•   Be a member in good standing
•   Be a member of the ZAU ARTCC, or willing to transfer upon selection
•   Hold a VATSIM Enroute Controller (C1) rating or higher
•   Have held an I1 rating for at least 90 days at any given time
•   Have an extensive knowledge of US airspace, air traffic control procedures and regulations
•   Be familiar with the current VATSIM GRP and all applicable VATUSA and VATNA policies and changes
•   Maintain active status by logging minimum number of hours in accordance with ARTCC policy
•   Possess excellent written and oral communication skills
•   Be able to work well in a team-oriented environment

Preferred Skills & Abilities
The successful candidate should:
•   Possess and utilize a high degree of energy & commitment appropriate for this position.
•   Understand this position requires a HIGH time commitment.
•   Demonstrate qualities of understanding, patience and maturity.
•   Have a working knowledge of various training software and scenario-building processes including but not limited to: TWRTrainer and Euroscope/ESKey.
•   Be skilled with Microsoft PowerPoint or Google equivalent.

Priority is given to candidates who:
•   Currently possess an I1 rating or higher.
•   Have instructor or mentor experience on the network, ideally within ZAU.
•   Possess experience and certification within the ZAU ARTCC.
•   Have real-world aviation experience (pilot or ATC).
•   Have previous ARTCC (or higher) staff experience.
•   Have real-world managerial or supervisory experience.

The selected candidate will be submitted to the VATUSA Training Director for final approval and may expect an additional division interview.  All candidates will be notified if/when a selection is made.

ZAU ARTCC is currently seeking applicants for the position of Webmaster.

Duties:
Reports to the ATM regarding website matters.
Maintain an active online presence on the website, discord, email, and network.
Manages and oversees the ARTCCs data services including web content and delivery, web services, email systems, data storage systems, etc.
Must respond quickly to website and data system needs.
Develops and implements policies and procedures for the operation and maintenance of the ARTCC web and data systems.
Attends staff meetings as called by the ATM.
Any other duty assigned.

Minimum Requirements:
Must be an active member of the network in good standing.
Be a member of ZAU, or willing to transfer upon selection.
Must be proficient with modern web programming languages and techniques, including Linux, MySQL, and PHP.. some Golang experience useful
Must be able to work in a team environment.
Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.

Highly Desired Skills:
Have previous staff experience in a VATSIM ATC facility or virtual airline.
Previous VATUSA Webteam/personal web project experience.
Experience managing a small group of people.

Chicago ARTCC (ZAU) is currently seeking applicants for the position of Training Administrator.

Duties:
Reports to the ATM; VATUSA3 and VATUSA13 as necessary
Maintain an active online presence on the website, Discord, email, and network
Acts as a senior staff member, leading and supporting ARTCC members
Attends staff meetings as called by the ATM
Maintains, updates, and manages the training program, lessons, sweatbox scenarios including airport files, and exam rubrics
Abides by the requirements of the VATSIM Global Ratings Policy
Oversees the quality of the training program
Responsible for recruiting, appointing, and managing ZAU Mentors
Recommend new instructors to VATUSA and manages the probationary instructor program
Hold periodic training meetings to discuss changes and updates
Creatively designs training resources to help controllers progress through the training program more efficiently
Approves exam assignment for students and finalizes promotions
Any other duty assigned by the ATM

Minimum Requirements:
Be an active member of the network in good standing
Currently holding a C1 rating or above
Be able to work well in a team-oriented environment
Have excellent written and oral communication skills
Possess maturity, good judgment, and leadership skills

Highly Desired Skills:
Currently hold or have previously held an I1 rating in VATUSA
Be a previous or current ZAU Mentor/Instructor/Member
Possess a high degree of commitment and motivation
Have previous staff experience in a VATSIM ATC facility
