[div align=\\\'center\\\']ALWAYS HIRING AT VECTOR AIRLINES[/div]

So what makes Vector Airlines different from any other VA out there today? Virtually nothing. There are many great VAs out there on the VATSIM network that people all over the world love to fly and emulate their favorite airline and we’re not going to take anything away from any of them. Choosing a VA a lot of times is like shopping for a new car. Some like Ford, some Toyota, some are madly in love with that $500.00 rust bucket they bought with their own money that for the last 10 years has just sat in the driveway.

Let me tell you what we do have to offer. On 15 July of this year we celebrated our 2nd Birthday which for me as a CEO is a record. This is my 3rd VA as CEO and the other two only lasted a year or a little more. That tells you that I have put a lot of work into this VA and am sticking with it! Our VA is a Virtual Airline not like other VAs that emulate real world airlines. Our airline is completely made up which has it’s benefits and drawbacks. You don’t get to call yourself “ Southwest 319 “ or “ American 123 “, however, our routes are only limited by our imagination. We have a professionally made website for all to enjoy, custom crafted aircraft that we’ve gotten many compliments on, we run VAFS v5.0 as our ACARS and Reporting System which is simple and easy to use, we get together every Thursday for team group flights and have a small but dedicated team that we all know very well. We don’t treat our team like they’re just a number on a roster.

We want to grow, however, have no intentions on becoming a USAirways or a Delta Airlines in size and numbers. We feel as though we’d lose that personal touch. We’re not an airline for everyone. We do expect our team to act like adults and abide by the CoC. We do expect our team to put in two flights a month and if you’re unable to stay in contact with me. We don’t put up with any drama and work hard to create an environment that is laid back and enjoyable for all. In short, we want professional pilots that treat this like it’s a simulation.

Is this the airline for you? Shoot us an application and let’s talk!

Virtual Airlines / Vector Airlines hiring staff.
« on: December 05, 2010, 10:44:51 PM »
Good evening guys.

Vector Airlines is now hiring staff positions for our official opening on January 1st, 2011.

Before applying to be a part of the staff on our team let me get a couple of things out in the open. First, I can't stress enough that to be a staff member at Vector Airlines we're looking for people that have the utmost professionalism and maturity. My previous VAs worked hard at being respected by the ARTCCs we flew into and partnered with. Secondly, I will be honest in saying that I am not looking for someone that already belongs to 8 or 10 other VAs. I am looking for team that will be dedicated to seeing this airline succeed. Our main focus is to support VATSIM and it's partners through online presence.

The staff positions that we'll initially be hiring for is :

Director of Operations : Orlando
Director of Operations : Las Vegas
Director of Public Relations and Events

If you want to know more about these positions don't hesitate to shoot me an email.

We look forward to seeing you in our skies!

Virtual Airlines / Vector Airlines recruiting Pilots!
« on: November 28, 2010, 07:14:49 PM »
Good afternoon pilots and team!

I've been around VATSIM for quite a few years and  have gone against the grain to start a " Virtual " Airline. This airline is not based on a real world airline so we're not talking about a jetBlue or a Delta Airlines. We are however, an airline that projects real world professionalism. We've worked hard to create an airline that has every realistic quality that a jetBlue or a Delta Airlines has, with the freedom of choosing our own hubs, aircraft, and routes.

This is Vector Airlines.

Over the past few months we've been hard at work creating our hubs, routes and painting aircraft for our team to use. Our hubs are located at Orlando, Dallas / Ft. Worth and Las Vegas with an expansion hub overseas at London Gatwick.

We're currently supporting FS9, FSX and PC Users of X-Plane v9. Our fleet consists of the Beechcraft 1900D, Embraer 145XR, Boeing 737-700, Boeing 757-200 and Boeing 787-800. For FS users we'll have repaints for the LevelD 767 to use instead of the 787-800 which is what the 787 is meant to replace. Also, we honor all the hours that you've already logged on VATSIM networks to rank you amongst our team.

What we need..... is YOU! We're looking for pilots to grow into the airline and support our team! Feel free to visit our website and check us out. We look forward to recruiting you to our airline!

General Discussion / BIG Sessions and VATUSA Servers.
« on: January 16, 2010, 01:14:18 PM »
I've posted a couple of topics like this one before over the last year with what seems like no real progress. Last night's FNO into Chicago was a great example of this and really feel for the crew up in and around ZAU. There were quite a few pilots loosing their cool claiming that the APP controllers were " ignoring " them which I know not to be the case. We received an email from one of the controllers last night and I quote :

" and as you may have noticed I had some connection/server problems because I kept getting disconnected, had to reconnect, pick up track on 30 airplanes and manually figure out  "

It seems like almost every big event that has more than a large amount of traffic the servers aren't able to cope with the work load. Almost every controller I know complains about Server Splits. Coming from a controller's point of view I know that this can be VERY annoying and also causes a disconnect in control with other team members as well as an interruption in service to the pilots. Caos in short. Last night appeared pretty brutal. I didn't catch the name of the CTR controller for last night's FNO, however, he earned a tip of the hat. He was controlling everything from him down to what appeared to be TWR. He was doing his best under the circumstances and really kept his cool.

I am more than curious to know what VATUSA is doing to work on this issue. The Super Bowl event is coming to Miami here in less than a month which if last night is any indication on how the servers are going to cope....  will be less than pretty. I have flown a couple large events in the UK and they don't seem to have that issue. Is there something they are doing that VATUSA isn't? The end result is being that more and more controllers are getting frustrated and not wanting to be part of large events.... pilots think they are being mis-treated, and participation for these types of events appear to be on the fall.

I'm concerned about this.

Sincerely,
Melinda Romig

General Discussion / Server Disconnects
« on: October 28, 2009, 04:51:15 PM »
As both a controller on VATSIM and a pilot, I wanted to comment on the service interruptions. It truly is getting annoying. I was working on getting in a few flights today and spoke to VATGOV5 ( I think it was ) who too was experiencing a lot of boots. USA-S3 I am getting dropped relentlessly, USA-SE keeps timing out and USA-W unable to connect to. ( Connection refused ) The only server that I am able to hold a solid connection to is UK.

As a pilot this is more than annoying. Enjoying the company of other pilots is what we're all here for. Does VATSIM / VATUSA have a solution for this?

Sincerely,
Melinda Romig
