November 19th & 20th, 2016 - Begins 2000z on 10/19/16 until 1500z 10/20/16
19+ Hours of Artistry... you never knew you had...
Join us in this Historic replication flight.
Virtual United Airlines (vUAL) invites the VATSIM® Community to draw the Boeing Logo across the skies of North America; replicating the Dreamliner ETOPS Test flight performed on Thursday, 9 February 2012. So you think you can draw? So you dare yourself to fly for 19 plus hours on Vatsim® Network? Choose from a non-rev (empty) B744, a B77L or B77W or even a freeware B788/9 and become the artist you've longed to be. Let's do this!.
Boeing Field KBFI is the departure and arrival airport. The enroute block time is 19hrs+ and the FPL route below is the only route you're expected to fly.
After considering the limited parking spots at Boeing Field - two 'overflow' airports in close proximity to Boeing Field... Snohomish Co Airport (Paine Field KPAE) and Seattle-Tacoma Int'l (SeaTac KSEA) have been opened up.
In coordination with Seattle ARTCC's Events Coordinator - Mr Aaron Schwartz - should a controller(s) request a pilot reposition at an overflow airport, the pilot should quickly transition (slew) to the suggested airport then resume COMMS with the appropriate controlling agency.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION for vUAL Pilots (Non-vUAL Pilots should also read this)
vUAL's (in-house) sign-up page will allow fifty (50) slots spaced at 15 minute intervals. Pilots should connect to VATSIM® at the specific time they picked from the sign-up page. Before logging onto the Network, your flightplan route (Company Route) should already be programmed into the FMS and the pilot should be ready to request CLNC/DEL and P/S. The 15 minute interval will reduce the bottleneck of planes heading to the active runway - AND - assist Seattle ARTCC Controllers in providing spaced departures.
VATSIM® Community Pilots who see the Event on VATSIM®/VATUSA® Events Calendar... choosing to fly the Event are asked to observe the timing guidelines mentioned above - AND - should consider...
a) VATSIM® Code of Conduct
b) Other pilots on the network
c) Overcrowding issues - thus the overflow airports
d) Making the event enjoyable for all
The mission? Fly on the Network for 19+ hours and land the next day at Boeing Field or one of the overflow airports - AND - not receive negative complaints from Seattle ARTCC about conduct within their airspace. So. let's be true to our level of professionalism. This flight takes us through Seattle, Salt Lake City, Denver, Minneapolis , Kansas City and (maybe) a piece of Chicago's ARTCCs. So... "Yeah!"

MISSING WPTS:
As of 10/10/16 using AIRAC 1610, two (2) WPTs were not found... SOBME and JINUK. Even with these missing WPTs, the flight pattern remained intact. If you're typing in the route? Be aware of this and just omit them.

OVERFLOW AIRPORTS:
If a pilot is sent to an overflow airport - for whatever reason - the overflows are so close, there is STILL no need to modify the FMS files or the flight plan route. Seattle ARTCC is being sent THIS VERY SAME INFORMATION and they desire to help make this a great event. So, they know and understand our desires and will work with all pilots.
NETWORK SESSIONS:
VATSIM® SOP rules the day at all times. If you plan on being away from the cockpit for 30 or more minutes? You MUST DISCONNECT or risk being kicked off the network by a Supervisor. There is no further explanation to this rule. Just Log off under the above conditions then reconnect when you're back.
Let's be the Artist we've always wanted to be. Join in on this MEGA ETOPS Test Flight - that never really left North America.
