I had a 404 error earlier (0300z) on the Become an ATC link when I was looking at something. It seams to have resolved now. Not sure if this is the same thing he experienced.
Yea, this is the problem.
It appears to be fixed now, though.

... and regarding ASRC, it is generally suggested that getting started, you download and install VRC rather than ASRC.

You can select an ARTCC and will hold an Observer Rating.  The ARTCC will provide training for S1.
Thank you, Andrew. I was confused because it said Pilot/Observer, making me think that a pilot did not require training, therefore after training you would receive student. Thank you.

Hello,
I am waiting to take my Basic Test, the one after pressing "Become a VATUSA ATC". Now, should I score an 80% or above and succesfully select an ARTCC, would I be granted the pilot/Observer rank, or the student rank. If the student rank, would I be permitted to control Ground? Thank you in advance.

P.S. I am new to these forums and not sure if this is in the right section. If not, my apologies.

EDIT: It appears that the ASRC website is down. Is this known?
