General Discussion / DRAFT VATUSA logos

I honestly didn't know what I was starting when I threw that poll up there....  All I knew was that I had 2 new guys playing with putting together a new website, both shot me a different placeholder logo, and even though I know the last time submissions were requested we had no interest, I figured I'd at least see if there was interest in something new out there.  Boy, is there!

That said, no, this isn't a final vote by any means, but a great avenue to get the creative juices going and get some good options in case we want to make an update.  Keep at it!

Means VATUSA is becoming stronger and not weaker like has been the trend with participation over the last several years. Good to see maybe the rescission as i call it is ending slowly.

[!--quoteo--][div class=\\\'quotetop\\\']QUOTE [/div][div class=\\\'quotemain\\\'][!--quotec--]Looking great! Protip: if you have access, you can add the apache mod_rewrite module and enable "pretty links" in the joomla backend to get rid of the redundant index.php from your URLs smile.gif[/quote]

I'm sure Scott will respond to this. Tom don't let me touch websites anymore after my last encounter! I mean who knew you could bring down an entrire site by removing one stinken letter

Controllers,

Please be advised tonight we will be shifting to the new ZOB Site that Scott has been working on. With the change it may take several hours for it to come up. If you experience any problem after 4pm tomorrow or are unable to access please email Scott or myself so any issues can be worked out.

Thank you for your patience in the switch,
Mike Scott

NOTAMs / Requesting assistance from Supervisors
« on: December 08, 2014, 07:38:00 pm »
I'm sure this is something so simple that no one is going to have a problem putting this in there training. When i train i always make sure my student knows the .wallop command because i know i didn't when i first start and let me tell you it got interesting on some occasions.

However, Jesse has brought up a good point and being a former sup as well i cant say i ever understood why, Can you please post in that forum and make sure that the supervisor themselves are reading the info coming in. I think many sups use an allis file as well for there initial contact which asks you to explain everything again.  I think instead of saying who you are and your role a  simple Hi. I'm working your issue, is sufficient for most on the network when we call them. At that point I'm expecting someone to show up of authority.

It is that time of year again as we feature the largest airport within ZOB's limits. The Greater Detroit event has been going on now for 8yrs strong. Let's make this year the strongest ever be there with all of the ZOB controllers as we celebrate Greater Detroit.

General Discussion / GREAT JOB ZOB!

I gotta say, this event is one of the best this year!!! Great Job ZOB, Great job to CLE_77_CTR, you did a good job handling that traffic! I have some pic's a took with my new PC, on my final Approach into DTW!!

Thanks Joey... I must personally say for this event skipping a year and this really being the "return" it was a great event. Everyone really enjoyed themselves and it brought out the true highlights of what VATSIM really is.  We have a bit of talking to do, see where the mistakes occurred to make this event better but i already do plan for the return of it next year around this time.

Again Thanks Joey and i will pass your message on to the rest of the group.
