Cleveland ARTCC – Events Coordinator Vacancy


The Cleveland ARTCC is seeking an Events Coordinator (EC) to lead the planning, promotion, and execution of events that showcase Cleveland’s airspace and controllers. The ideal candidate will bring creativity, strong organizational skills, and the ability to foster collaboration with neighboring ARTCCs, Virtual Airlines, and the broader VATSIM community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reports to the Cleveland Deputy Air Traffic Manager (DATM).
  • Plans, organizes, and executes ARTCC-hosted events.
  • Coordinates ARTCC participation in neighboring ARTCC and VATUSA events.
  • Maintains strong relationships with neighboring ARTCCs, Virtual Airlines, and VATUSA staff.
  • Works with the Facilities Engineer (FE) to ensure event positions and sector files are properly prepared.
  • Creates promotional material (in coordination with the Social Media/Outreach Coordinator) to maximize pilot turnout.
  • Oversees event staffing assignments and ensures adequate controller coverage.
  • May oversee an Assistant or an Events Team to support the workload.
  • Engages with ARTCC members to gather feedback and ideas for future events.

Minimum Requirements
  • Active VATSIM member in good standing with no significant disciplinary history.
  • Minimum rating of Senior Student (S3).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with ARTCC staff, controllers, and external organizations.
  • Creativity, motivation, and organizational skills to design unique and engaging events.
  • Active presence in the ARTCC and VATSIM community.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous staff experience within VATSIM.
  • Graphic design or social media promotion experience.
  • Experience with Discord moderation and/or event staffing coordination.

Important Information
This is a high-visibility position within the ARTCC and requires a motivated and engaged individual. The EC will have the support of the staff team, creative freedom to design and run events, and the opportunity to lead assistants or a team in making Cleveland a standout facility. Applicants should be prepared to commit the necessary time and energy to ensure events are well-organized and successful.

The Virtual Jacksonville ARTCC Web Team is looking for two (2) Assistant Web Masters.

Key Responsibilities:
- Reports to the Web Master
- Assists with developing, managing, and overseeing Web Services, APIs, E-mail, and other systems
- Responds quickly to website and data system needs
- Other duties as assigned by the Web Master
 
Basic Requirements:
-  Supports the Virtual Jacksonville ARTCC mission of “Elevating Virtual Excellence”.
- Supports and participates in initiatives that give back to the VATSIM community.
- Supports the recruitment, retention, and development of a diverse range of talented people.
- Strengthens others through consistent feedback while driving productivity and morale.
- Holds self and others accountable to high performance standards while providing pilots with memorable experiences.
- Partners in the development of strategy and helps to translate into specific priorities, objectives, and action plans.
- Attends periodic Web Team staff meetings.
- Attends periodic Community Town Halls to provide updates on the Web Team in the absence of the Web Master.

Additional Requirements:
- Must have at least a Student 1 (S1) rating
- Must be an active member of the VATSIM network in good standing with no significant disciplinary history
- Must be proficient in modern web programming languages and techniques, such as, HTML, MySQL, JavaScript, Rust, CSS, vue, GoLang.
- Must have excellent written and oral communication skills
- Must be able to work in a team environment
- Must be available for regular correspondence (via the primary means of e-mail and discord), as well as routinely checking VATUSA forums and other outlets for official notices
- Be able to meet all activity requirements as outlined in vZJX Order 7210.1A Facility Admin Policy and all sections thereof (as appropriate).

This position requires a significant commitment to vZJX and VATSIM. Roles and responsibilities may change as needed.

The Cleveland ARTCC is seeking a Training Administrator (TA) to lead and manage our Training Department. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, instructional expertise, and a commitment to developing controllers through a structured and effective training program. 

Key Responsibilities
  • Reports to both the Cleveland Air Traffic Manager (ATM) and VATUSA Deputy Director Training Services. 
  • Leads, manages, and continuously improves the ARTCC training program. 
  • Recruits, develops, and maintains a qualified staff of Instructors and Mentors. 
  • Maintains and updates training resources, including the ARTCC website and certification system. 
  • Provides training services directly as an Instructor. 
  • Develops, updates, and enforces training policies, standards, and procedures. 
  • Actively participates in ARTCC staff meetings and contributes to ARTCC management. 
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by the ATM. 

Minimum Requirements
  • Active VATSIM member in good standing with no significant disciplinary history. 
  • Minimum rating of Controller (C1) or higher. 
  • Experience as a VATUSA Instructor (current or previous, strongly preferred). 
  • Thorough knowledge of the VATSIM ATC system and the U.S. ATC environment. 
  • Strong working knowledge of FAA Order 7110.65
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-based environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in training, teaching, or education (on or off VATSIM). 
  • Prior leadership, management, or supervisory experience. 
  • Real-world aviation or ATC experience.

This is a senior staff position with a significant time commitment. It is not an entry-level role. Applicants should carefully consider the workload and responsibilities before applying. Only those able to commit the required time and effort should apply.

Hi all,

I just passed the S1 and am looking to join my local ARTCC at Kansas.
I have been on their site but can find no Request to Join/apply button etc.

I would love to keep my momentum going here but am feeling a little stuck after spending the weekend searching around.

Any help that anyone could provide would be hugely appreciated.
