General Discussion / VATSIM USA Assigning Gates
« Last post by Ryan Burke on May 07, 2026, 06:57:32 PM »
I would love to see VATSIM USA copy what VATSIM Europe does and assign gates to arriving aircraft. Sadly, a lot of folks in the US don't know which gates there real world airline uses at airports. Thus, it becomes kind of a mess. In Europe, ATC will assign your gate when you land. I think this could be super helpful and help with the immersion that VATSIM brings us all!

Events / [05/31/2026] VATSIM Elite Wings (ORD-LGA)
« Last post by Dan Michael Bonaga on May 06, 2026, 11:05:58 PM »

Think you’ve got what it takes to handle complex airspace and high-traffic operations? Elite Wings is here to put your skills to the test!

This event is designed for experienced pilots who want a real challenge. We’re talking busy frequencies, complex procedures, and ATC coverage from gate to gate. If you’re used to flying in quieter airspace, get ready—this will be a whole different level.

On 31st May, starting at 1300 UTC, you’ll depart from Chicago O'Hare - KORD and head to New York (LaGuardia) - KLGA, navigating through the famous Park Visual approach and one of the most complex taxiway networks in the United States. This isn’t just a flight—it’s an experience.

To maintain a structured and realistic flow of traffic, slot booking is mandatory. Make sure to reserve your departure time here (https://booking.vatsim.net/) in advance so you can participate.

Bring your A-game, because controllers will expect you to be sharp with procedures and quick with readbacks. If you're ready for a realistic, high-traffic challenge, this is the event for you. The skies are waiting—are you up for it?
