VATUSA is proud to present its members with a seminar on
Weather. These classes are presented by experienced members of the division to better our controllers’ knowledge, skills, and technique.
Led by a real-world meteorologist, this class will include in-depth discussion on weather theory, with a focus on how various atmospheric conditions affect aviation operations in a flight simulator environment. Topics include large-scale weather patterns, air masses, fronts, jet streams, convection, and what makes the atmosphere unstable. We'll also look at common aviation weather products like TAFs, AIRMETs, SIGMETs, and Center Weather Advisories, and how to read and use them on VATSIM.
