In the Regional Circuit, controllers fully staff two regional airports, providing complete 'gate-to-gate' coverage over this special three-hour event. The focus airports are typically 80-200nm apart, and a high volume of pilots operating in this compressed airspace means the Regional Circuit provides optimal conditions for congested frequencies and busy airways.
In this particular regional circuit, the Minneapolis ARTCC (ZMP) will be hosting the event in their airspace and providing air traffic control services. This allows our members to experience a change in scenery, as well as allow some of our controllers to participate from the other end of the mic. We hope to see you there!
