Position title: Facilities Engineer
Job Requirements:
• Supports creation and maintenance of ZDC community and standards thereof
• Maintains and updates sector files for all approved ATC client software, updating at least every AIRAC cycle.
• Maintains vATIS configuration files.
• Assists the Training Administrator in maintaining all required training files
• Maintains POF and alias files.
• Coordinates with adjacent ARTCCs as required, including assists in developing Letters of Agreement on behalf of the Air Traffic Manager
• Ensures established LOAs are fully represented within sector files and other procedures.
• Performs other facility related work as directed by the Senior Staff at ZDC
• Supports and participates in initiatives that give back to the VATSIM community.
• Supports the recruitment, retention and development of a diverse range of talented people.
• Holds self and others accountable to high performance standards while providing pilots with memorable experiences.
• Ability to listen to feedback and take constructive action.
• Maintains an online presence on the VATSIM server and ZDC TS.
• Attends periodic meetings to report on ARTCC activities.
Application Requirements:
• Minimum S3 rating required
• Must abide by the minimum required hours as dictated in the ZDC SOP; 1 controlling hour a month and bi-monthly or as otherwise needed sector file updates
• Applicants must have a thorough working knowledge of VRC and vATIS, at least a working knowledge of Euroscope and be familiar with vSTARS and vERAM.
• Must be an active member of the network in good standing.
• Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Must be able to work in a team environment.
• Must be available for regular correspondence (via the primary means of e-mail), as well as routinely checking VATUSA forums and other outlets for official notices.
Preferred Skills
• Provides evidence of commitment and self-motivation.
• Previous experience either as a FE or in assisting an existing FE.
• Ability to create Tower Trainer airport and scenario files for training purposes.
• Ability to create Euroscope scenario files
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
In a narrative manner please show how you meet the following KSAs:
1) Sector file development
2) Writing documents of a technical manner
3) Creating training scenarios/problems
Candidates whom are not on the ZDC home roster, if accepted must transfer to ZDC to accept the position.
