For those who do not know, the process for becoming a Supervisor on the network has drastically changed. Per this NOTAM (
http://forums.vatsim.net/viewtopic.php?f=1&p=318072), VATSIM is now accepting applications for Supervisors. So far, the general response has been overwhelming. There have been a least a couple dozen applications from VATNA members yesterday alone.
As part of the process, all applicants need to receive a positive recommendation from me. I receive a request automatically through the SAS System every time a member applies. I check my email very consistently, so if you have applied and have not received a recommendation from me (through the system) within 48 hours, please send me an email. It is very possible there was an error in the system or email. There have already been a couple errors today that prohibited me completely from making a recommendation.
While I don't have to know you personally to make a recommendation, it would be nice to at least know what you have done on the network. If you think I don't know who you are, a very brief email just stating what you have done would certainly be appreciated, so that I can customize my recommendation for you. While absolutely not required for the application process, it certainly couldn't hurt. I received a couple today, and it was great being able to tailor my recommendation to their strong points.
