Cleveland ARTCC – Training Administrator Vacancy
The Cleveland ARTCC is seeking a
Training Administrator (TA) to lead and manage our Training Department. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, instructional expertise, and a commitment to developing controllers through a structured and effective training program.
Key Responsibilities- Reports to both the Cleveland Air Traffic Manager (ATM) and VATUSA Deputy Director Training Services.
- Leads, manages, and continuously improves the ARTCC training program.
- Recruits, develops, and maintains a qualified staff of Instructors and Mentors.
- Maintains and updates training resources, including the ARTCC website and certification system.
- Provides training services directly as an Instructor.
- Develops, updates, and enforces training policies, standards, and procedures.
- Actively participates in ARTCC staff meetings and contributes to ARTCC management.
- Performs additional duties as assigned by the ATM.
Minimum Requirements- Active VATSIM member in good standing with no significant disciplinary history.
- Minimum rating of Controller (C1) or higher.
- Experience as a VATUSA Instructor (current or previous, strongly preferred).
- Thorough knowledge of the VATSIM ATC system and the U.S. ATC environment.
- Strong working knowledge of FAA Order 7110.65.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-based environment.
Preferred Qualifications- Previous experience in training, teaching, or education (on or off VATSIM).
- Prior leadership, management, or supervisory experience.
- Real-world aviation or ATC experience.
