The DC SFRA encompasses an airspace extending 30 nautical miles from the DCA VOR, from the surface up to FL180. This area exists outside the Flight Restricted Zone (FRZ), established for national security reasons, which imposes strict limitations on flight operations and necessitates adherence to specialized flight plans and procedures. Challenge yourself by filing SFRA flight plans and mastering the protocols required for safe and compliant flying within this unique airspace environment.
