Hurricane Sandy
« on: October 27, 2012, 12:38:59 PM »
Hi all,

As I'm sure many of you are aware, the Northeastern US is expecting a "Frankenstorm" (not my naming) starting sometime Monday and impacting us for most of the week.

First order of business, everyone please be safe and take care of yourselves.

Second, I ask everyone to have patience over the next week regarding exam scheduling, promotions and approvals and event notifications and postings. The weather folks are saying this storm could affect us for up to four days and loss of power and other essential services may be a fact of life for some time.

It's significant that this storm follows the blizzard we experienced last year at this time...just goes to show "You can't fool with Mother Nature!"

So, batten down the hatches, it could be a rough ride...

Agreed, please be patient and stay safe. States of emergency have already been declared in Connecticut, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Washington, D.C. Sandy currently has a pressure of 961mb or 28.38. It was 28.92 just about a half hour ago.
