If you don't mind me asking... What was so bad about? They seem to be able to do it over in Europe without issues.
Sure, some top reasons (personal opinion):
-It detracts from the realism for me (as a controller and pilot), and would likely detract from my own interest/participation
-It is a level of consolidation I do not want to see in the division (or network)
-It would be an unnecessary logistical challenge for marginal (if any) gain; again opinion. I would rather see how the VATUSA Academy plays out again in terms of activity and participation, assuming that is the basis of your question. Is morphing airspace truly necessary?
-Adding to logistics, it would require an unprecedented change to air traffic procedures and policies that would have to be written very smartly.
-There's plenty of airspace that gets busy enough, especially during high-visibility events. The last thing I want is to add thousands of miles more of responsibility. My brain isn't getting any younger and I certainly don't want to reduce the quality of service I provide.
