RESCHEDULED!

VATUSA is proud to host new VATSIM President, Kyle Ramsey, for a Town Hall Meet and Greet.  Come join us on the VATUSA Teamspeak Server at Sun 25 Oct at 2300Z for this great opportunity to meet and chat with the VATSIM President!

There are only 1,000 slots available, and they are first come, first served, so make sure you get your seat early (in the interest of bandwidth reduction, I'm talking minutes, not days, please!).  Look forward to seeing you all then.

The TeamSpeak server address is: ts.vatusa.net:9989
Please use your full name in the nickname login line.

It is important to ensure the :9989 is there!

You gave the time but not the date. When can we plan for this to happen?

Strange -- I just verified it.  Please let me know if you still can't see it when you get to a non-phone computer.

That's going to be a long VATSIM weekend for him with CTP and then a meet and greet. True dedication lol  :D

Kyle has asked for an advanced list of questions that folks would like to ask.  Please post those here so he can be prepared for as many in advance as possible.

All, a great meeting tonight.  It lasted nearly 3 hours!  We had representation from VATUSA, VATCAN and VATCAR, as well as VATNA Director Nic Felini in attendance for tonight's town hall session with VATSIM President Kyle Ramsey.  Very impressive how open and transparent Kyle was.  Some great discussion about Kyle's view on life in VATSIM, his hopes and dreams for the network, and some great questions and feedback provided from the folks in attendance.  The following topics were covered:

- Kyle briefed some about his VATSIM and professional background
- Interested in pursuing ability to engage with college and high school aviation programs
- Concept of a Regional GRP
- Pilot Training
- Possibility of an entrance exam to weed out people that "were never our customers anyway"
- Ideas to improve VATSIM signup process, including a way to weed out the boneheads
- Desire to have a comprehensive VATSIM AI library
- Ideas about improving network infrastructure, including codecs, model matching, etc.
- Possibility of the next VATSIM global conference being in the UK in 2017
- Working with Sky Blue Radio on an event in the Denver area.
- VATNA Region ATO coming - development in process

And there were several questions from the audience, including questions about many of the above, plus:

- Making it easier to become a VATSIM-approved VA
- Supervisor availability, especially in the middle of the night
- Supervisor eligibility
- "LiveATC (TM)" for VATSIM

We concluded by thanking Kyle for his willingness to spend this time with us and his openness and transparency.  Thanks to all who were able to attend!

Thanks for organizing this, Don & Kyle. It was fantastic to see the level of attendance and quality of discourse. I'll echo the sentiment of others that I really hope these start to become a more regular event at all levels of the network staff.
