New US-based P3 program now available...
« on: January 01, 2016, 11:04:06 PM »
Hi all -- VATSTAR is pleased to announce that we are now authorized to administer the P3 Pilot Rating, in addition to the P1 and P2 programs we already offer.  Our P3 program is 12 self-study written lessons, a written exam review and test, then one practice flight and two checkrides.  If you're interested in enrolling, please head over to our site and check it out.  Note that our P3 program builds off of concepts covered in the P2 rating, so we consider the P2 (earned from us or anyone else) a prerequisite for our P3.  We look forward to offering this exciting new program in 2016!

Hi again -- on top of the above, you can now add the P4 rating!  The format is the same as the P3 except that the written material includes fourteen rather than twelve lessons.  For those interested, we're aiming to begin offering the P5 by late Spring / early Summer 2016.

At this rate, you might become the first ATO to certify to P6.

I know that was a bit tongue-in-cheek (or at least I think it was), but, we're actually very interested in doing just that.  As soon as we complete our P5 certification (this month, we hope) and then circle back and make some updates to our P1-P4 programs, we're talking about pushing for development of the Oceanic rating.  We may go so far as to develop our own course and offer it independently of the Pilot Ratings system until which time the P6 is fully developed and ready to roll out; and, if in that process, our training standards end up getting adopted as the network-wide syllabus for the rating, all the better... ;-)
