Friday Night Ops: Hawaii!
« on: May 10, 2017, 11:15:11 PM »

Aloha! Join Honolulu CF for a nice tropical vacation from the chills of winter for our 2017 FNO.  Featuring full staff at PHNL and PHOG.

December 1st, 2017, 2359z - 0400z GMT (1859 - 2300 EST, 1359 - 1800 HST)

Preferred inter-island routes:

PHOG-PHLI:  MAUI5 OGG LNY V16 NAPUA 10000 - FL260
PHOG-PHMK: V6 V8 6000 - 8000ft
PHOG-PHKO: ONOHI2 ONOHI VECKI8 9000 - 15000 ft
PHOG-PHTO: ONOHI2 BARBY PARIS V15 11000 - 17000 ft
PHOG-PHNL: MAUI5 OGG LNY JULLE5 10000 - 16000 ft

PHNL-PHOG: PALAY2 LNY CAMPS3 7000 - 15000ft
PHNL-PHLI: KEOLA2 LIH 8000 - 16000 ft
PHNL-PHKO: PALAY2 LNY VECKI8 7000 - FL330
PHNL-PHTO: MKK4 PULPS V21 PUMIC V15 15000 - FL270
PHNL-PHMK: MKK 5000 - 7000 ft

Special Notes:
- Aircraft on the MAGGI3 arrival into PHNL: Depart CKH heading 220.  DO NOT TURN DIRECT PHNL AFTER CKH.
- Aircraft who file SAKKI5 will be assigned JULLE5.
- All aircraft departing to oceanic airspace PLEASE set your sim time to REAL TIME.  This helps with position reports.

We're hoping for a big turnout.  Looking forward to seeing everyone!  Be sure to listen to ATC, heed their instructions, and be clear, quick, and concise on frequency.

Mahalo!

Added some preferred routing.  For pilots that aren’t aware of them, check out PHNL’s VFR departure and arrival procedures here:

Definitely recommend VFR around the island using the preferred routing above.  Those who may not want to commit to a oceanic crossing, or island hopping will find tight airspace, terrain challenges, and beautiful scenery.  The HNL controllers recently did a great job accommodating me as a VFR flight.

It's tomorrow!! Looking forward to seeing everyone come out.  We will be fully staffed with centers, TRACONs, and local at PHNL and PHOG, plus a few satellites.

For an added challenge, become familiar with our published VFR departure and arrival procedures located here:

Samuel, the event can be accessed on all VATSIM servers.  The separate servers all connect to the same network  :) Hope to see you there, my friend  ;D
