The Honolulu Control Facility (HCF) is seeking a qualified, professional, and motivated individual to fulfill the role of Training Administrator (TA).
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Oversees, develops and Manages the HCF training program;
-Reports to the HCF Air Traffic Manager (ATM), HCF Deputy Air Traffic Manager (DATM), and VATUSA Training Director (VATUSA3);
-Hires facility instructors and mentors in consultation with the HCF ATM and DATM;
-Develops scenario files using Aircraft Situation Editor for usage in Tower Trainer;
-Administer Over-the-Shoulder (OTS) Examinations on Sweatbox or the live VATSIM network;
-Train and evaluate members of varying skill levels and controller rating;
-Develop HCF training policies;
-Other duties as assigned by the HCF ATM or DATM, or VATUSA3.
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Hold at least a C1 rating;
* Have held a rating of I1;
* Previous training experience;
* No disciplinary or unprofessional conduct in the last twelve months (may be waived at the discretion of the ATM);
* Capable of working well in a team-oriented environment;
* Strong knowledge of the United States Airspace, Air Traffic Control systems, and FAA 7110.65W;
* Excellent written and oral communication skills;
* Ability to professionally develop procedural and policy documents for HCF.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
*Instructor/Mentor experience for 30+ days;
*Previous or current ARTCC Senior Staff experience;
*Supervisory, trainer, or management experience in virtual or real world;
*Knowledge of Aircraft Situation Editor;
*Immensely enjoys teaching and helping others develop relevant skills through their virtual ATC career;
*Membership as a home controller or visiting controller in vHCF (Does not need to hold full certification at vHCF as training will be provided if accepted).
