Change in ZBW Leadership
« on: November 10, 2018, 01:24:58 PM »
Ian Fisher has resigned from the ZBW ARTCC role due to real world commitments.  Please join me in welcoming Clif Whitten as ZBW's new ATM.  Clif has been a ZBW member since 2008.  Clif was ZBW's EC for two years, and he has been ZBW's DATM since April 2017. Clif served as interim ATM during the Summer of 2018 prior to Ian being hired.  His temperament and performance while interim ATM, the length of time the position was open prior to Ian's hire, plus the short amount of time Ian was in the role were contributing factors in appointing Clif into this role.  I'm confident Clif can lend stability to ZBW, and his plans are consistent with what Ian was planning for the facility.

I hope that the VATUSA community will thank Clif for stepping up to the challenge and welcome him into the ZBW ATM role.  Congratulations Clif!

Congrats, Clif!  I hid a bottle of 15 year aged scotch, for each of the next 5 ATMs that succeeded me, in the third ceiling tile from the left adjacent to the window in the office.  As long as no one broke trust and snuck an extra bottle, you've got the final one.  Don't down it in one sitting -- remember, MaineCare won't pay for another liver for you.... :)

Sorry, I drank the last of the scotch but replaced it with some Tito's. You're welcome, Clif.

In addition to my promotion and the promotion of Krikor Hajian to DATM, we've had a few additional administrative shifts at ZBW/BVA.

After more than 10 years of involvement with Boston Virtual ARTCC, Phil Coyle is vacating his role as Community Manager.  Phil, who joined the community in 2007, has worked a variety of ‘odd jobs’ ranging from developing custom software for members to managing technology, marketing, and community atmosphere.  As a co-founder of FlightSimExpo, Phil plans to remain active in the flight simulation community and looks forward to seeing many of you at the Orlando event next summer.

I am happy to announce that Evan Reiter, the current Training Administrator, has been appointed to Phil’s role as Community Manager.

I've posted both the TA and EC positions in this forum, for open application.  The deadline is November 30.
