 I’m excited to announce that David G. will be stepping into the role of Facility Engineer!

David brings a wealth of experience to the table, having served as the FE at ZID for over two years, along with many years of involvement across the VATSIM network. His technical knowledge, attention to detail, and steady presence make him a perfect fit for the role here at ZKC.

We’re thrilled to have him on board in this capacity and look forward to the continued improvements and support he’ll bring to the team.

Purpose:
VATSIM Kansas City ARTCC is looking for a motivated individual that possesses a high degree of energy and commitment to serve as the Training Administrator.

Key Responsibilities:
- Reports to the Air Traffic Manager and VATUSA3.
- Oversees a comprehensive ARTCC Training Department and academy.
- Develops and maintains a training policy, sweatbox files, and training materials.
- Manages a team of Instructors and Mentors

Requirements:
- Supports the Kansas City ARTCC’s mission of “Creating professional controller’s, maintaining a high degree of integrity” while creating and maintaining an open and accepting community.
- Lead and effectively manage a team of mentors and instructors, including facilitating a structure for applications and onboarding new training staff members.
- Prior I1 experience.
- Serves as a leader to coach and motivate controllers while upholding a culture that builds exceptional internal and external pilot experiences.
- Oversees the quality of the training program.
- Perform multiple functions, including project management, instructional design, and instructional writing.
- Assess learning needs accurately and propose creative and effective learning solutions.
- Initiate and manage throughout the lifecycle of a project, including: initiating projects, creating project plans, executing all milestones and tasks, monitoring risk, and evaluating success.
- Leverage a diverse set of skills and delivery approaches, including: instructor led, blended, experiential, media based, performance support, and other emerging technologies.
- Organization design for Kansas City Training, inclusive of consulting to understand needs, building project roadmaps, and guiding/managing the org design process in partnership with ARTCC Partners to support ZKC goals.
- Supports and participates in initiatives that give back to the VATSIM community.
- Supports the recruitment, retention and development of a diverse range of talented people to fill the roles of Instructors and Mentors.
- Holds self and others accountable to high performance standards while providing pilots with memorable experiences
- Ability to listen to feedback and take constructive action.
- Maintains, updates and manages training program, lessons, sweatbox scenarios, exam rubrics
- Familiar with the VATSIM Global Controller Administration Policy (GCAP) and VATUSA Training Directive
- Attends periodic meetings to report on ARTCC activities.
- Ensures that Kansas City is following all VATSIM and VATUSA training directives.
- Be able to meet all activity requirements as outlined in the ZKC General Policy and all sections thereof (as appropriate).

Preferred Skills:
- Teaching/Education experience (on or off VATSIM).
- Leadership, managerial, or supervisory experience (real world or VATSIM applicable).
- Familiarity with the Kansas City policies and procedures.
- Demonstrates the qualities of understanding, patience, restraint, and professionalism.

ZAU is seeking a Webmaster. 

Key Responsibilities:
- Reports to the Air Traffic Manager and Deputy Air Traffic Manager
- Develops, manages, and oversees Web Services, APIs, E-mail, and other systems
- Responds quickly to website and data system needs
- Develops policies and procedures for operation and maintenance of the ARTCC web and data systems
-  Forms, oversees, and manages the ZAU Web Team
- Other duties as assigned by the ATM or DATM
 
Basic Requirements:
-  Supports the Chicago ARTCC’s mission of “Creating professional controller’s, maintaining a high degree of integrity” while creating and maintaining an open and accepting community.
-  Serves as a leader to coach and motivate controllers while upholding a culture that builds exceptional internal and external pilot experiences.
- Supports and participates in initiatives that give back to the VATSIM community.
- Supports the recruitment, retention, and development of a diverse range of talented people.
- Strengthens others through consistent feedback while driving productivity and morale.
- Holds self and others accountable to high performance standards while providing pilots with memorable experiences.
- Partners in the development of strategy and helps to translate into specific priorities, objectives, and action plans.
- Attends periodic meetings to report on ARTCC activities.

Additional Requirements:
- Must have at least a Student 1 (S1) rating
- Must be an active member of the VATSIM network in good standing with no significant disciplinary history
- Must be proficient in modern web programming languages and techniques, including, HTML, MySQL, JavaScript, Rust, CSS, vue, GoLang.
- Must have excellent written and oral communication skills
- Must be able to work in a team environment
- Must display leadership qualities
- Must be available for regular correspondence (via the primary means of e-mail and discord), as well as routinely checking VATUSA forums and other outlets for official notices
- Be able to meet all activity requirements as outlined in ZAU Admin Policy and all sections thereof (as appropriate).

This position requires a significant commitment to ZAU and VATSIM. Roles and responsibilities may change as needed.

Come join ZDC as we staff up the Norfolk TRACON as well as underlying civilian and military fields. The Norfolk area is home to some of the largest US Military facilities on the East coast of the US. ZDC controllers are staffing up to help honor those brave men and women who have given their life in service to their country, as we approach the Memorial Day holiday.

Monday Monday Monday! The Chicago Virtual ARTCC is excited to offer an action-packed evening over the amber waves of grain! Join us over the Midwestern cornfields for the virtual aviation extravaganza of the decade. Here in one of the busiest airspaces southern Wisconsin, there will be air traffic pandemonium. Hold on to your yoke as you take in the stunning views of Dubuque, Iowa and Janesville, Illinois. Can you handle thrilling rush hour traffic into Volk field? Come find out on Monday evening for the ultimate aviation experience.

All aircraft types and VFR are welcome. IFR to and from uncontrolled airfields are also welcome and encouraged. Special requests are also welcomed per controller workload.
